  2. I completely agree. This is a very good video Michael. The problem with ebooks is that everybody can publish it, with books you have a filter, which means the quality is much better. Writing down what you’ve learned is important as well.

  3. A really good message and timely as I have always struggled to get to read anything - even the ebooks I pay heaps of money for! I have many ebooks that I just haven’t got through - though I have tried and I recently made a decision to make sure I actually MAKE the time to read as many books as I can.

Thanks Michael - I particularly like the “leaders are readers” motto. :)

    Cheers!

  5. HI Michael,

I am currently reading Web Analytics for Dummies and will be reading Persuaison by Robert Chialdini.

As for e-books I have recently read both of Rich Schefrens’s books the Manifesto and Doctrine plus Filsaimes Death and Rebirth of Network Marketing.

I disagree with Ksenija and can see how you are building a foundation from which to build even greater momentum than one thinks is possible.

    All the best in success,

  6. Hey Michael, another great vid. I think it’s great your running these. Actually, the most recent book I read was Glen Hopkin’s new book “Confessions of an Online Marketer”. I loved it, and find myself referring back to it often now. It’s great read…and was actually making some changes to some of the processes I was using as I went through it. It also gave me a better roadmap to be following. Working on Rich Schefren’s new Doctrine now. Anyhow, thanx again. These always arrive right about the time I start my day here in Canada so it’s fab timing to get my day off right!

  7. Michael,

I really enjoy your videos. As for reading a book a week… YOU GOTTA BE CRAZY!
Who’s got time to read a book a week?

I can’t even find time to read my emails, nevermind all the ebooks that are collecting cyberdust on my hard drive.

Perhaps if I didn’t have to work 6 days a week to eek out a living I could find time to read a book a week. It’s a nice thought though.

  8. Carl - I know is sounds tough at first but that’s why I suggest reading a paragraph a day at first or even just one sentence!

It’s not that people who have lots of spare time read - it’s that people who read lots create lots of spare time in their life because they learn more and become more effective and efficient at what they do. ;-)

  9. Hey Michael,

I want to thanks you for the advice the last few days about “More Passionate when working on others project, but stuck for my own projects” hope you can remember… ;)
I collect a tons of idea, compile it to a marketing plan, offer to a businessman I knew for year, and I blow his mind off, and toke everything I suggest and we are starting on Thursday…all of the ideas I actually copied from books! From a lot of great achievers.

Main contributor is “Getting Everything You Can, Out of All You’ve Got” from Jay Abraham.

Thanks for your advice again, Michael.

Do keep this great TV going, and great community!

    Cheers ;)

  10. You are absolutely right, one need to read and learn new skills. But sometimes I wish I could do instead of read, or preferable both.

I seem to read too much books, attend to much tel seminars, look too much video learning, try to understand mentor program and the problem is to use what I learnt as I continue on the next book as soon as I finished one. Perhaps information overloads? Perhaps next year it is time to start doing something? I love to learn new things and it never stop coming in new things to read and learn and I often go to bed very late or early, often 4 a clock in the morning, it depends how one look upon time. In this way I have plenty of time to develope myself and not waist the time away to sleep.

Well, time for a new DVD Affiliate PPC Mastery seems to be very interesting as this is totally new for me.

Some day I will make a summery of everything I learnt and create a new product another time, another year…

  11. Hey Michael,

I am sure everyone here has heard the saying “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t MAKE him drink.”

You consistently give us great advice on how to create momentum and I’m sure for those of us who MAKE the time to take action on your advice, we will see great benefits.

In order to be successful in life, we have to prioritize what we do. If it doesn’t help us grow, then we must get rid of it. I can guarantee that if we were to take action on this thought alone, we wil create enough time in our busy lives to read a few books and most likely, learn something.

Keep up the great work, Michael!

  13. Hi Michael:

I read 2-3 marketing books a week in order to prepare for my interview with my guests on the The Recognized Expert Marketing Show. Not only do I read the book, but I have an opportunity to ask the authors the same questions everyone else wants to hear the answers to. If you don’t have time to read a book or if you would like an overview before investing in the book, listen to my interview with the author at http://www.RecognizedExpert.com It’s the quickest way to get this great information without reading. But nothing is better than reading the book. Great Video.

  14. Hey Michael & Everyone,

Excellent advice, & ditto to Cyndis’ comment!

I was hoping E-books count, because I now read at least one a day.. :)

When first online I was a little like Carl, just trying to catch up on reading emails..
    and then information overload too…

Not any more! Ignore the emails, grab a book!
Great advice, and most certainly makes a huge difference to your learning experiences.

And to Ksenija,:) it sort of has everything to do with business, Learning & growing.. all a part of the bigger picture!

I also just finished a really cool book (a real one) called “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff” by Richard Carlson, who was co-author of the Handbook for the Soul.. & a few other good ones.

One cool little quote from it,

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude” — :)

Keep the momentum coming. Your information data is high quality, in the learning department. It’s a must in anyones self-growth potential arena. Thanks

  16. Hi Micheal,

I met you briefly at the San Francisco meeting.

I have found that if I go to bed a half hour to an hour early that I can get a fair amount of reading done. I read not only marketing books but other non-fiction and an occasional fiction book. The reason I do this is so that my thinking is made more diverse.

I’m 67 years old and have been reading since I was 4 so you can see I have read a few books. When I was nine the librarian in the children’s section of the library got me permission to use the adult library since I had read so much of the children’s library. As I recall I was really into biography at the time.

  17. What is your business or career plan in regard to reading? It’s been said that you are in five years what you have read. It’s no good to try to read 100 books in the last weekend to reach your goal. Carry a book in your car. Read when waiting.

Set a goal to read 2-4 books a month. For every book you read on motivation, or business make a deal with yourself you can now read on spy novel.

The more you read the faster you’ll get and your comprehension will go up.

After 5 years do you want to be known as the person who knows the life histories of each contestant on American Idol or having read 120 books. I don’t know about you but this is an easy question to answer.

    Enjoy you adventure into reading.

  20. Hi,

I suppose its finding time to do things or wanting to start.

In other words not procrastinating, like work on building sites, and stuff with out being distracted like spending all my time on youtube.

well you could use youtube to your advantage and learn things and make videos to promote things i suppose.

But i think i should make better use of my time.

No point in getting ebooks or courses if they are only going to gather digital dust on the HDD.

  23. Hi Michael,

What are some your favorite books?

I have read a few business books that I really enjoyed. The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris and David Allen’s Getting Things Done were two of the best books that I have read.

    Thanks

  24. Hi Michael!
    Two things I’ve learned:

One, is that there is a paradox in that if you read faster, I mean give yourself permission to read faster and trust your body, eyes and brain, you allow your brain to suck in the information at a speed it wants to. It actually happens! But you have to have faith. Like typing, if you master it, your brain knows where the keys are and you don’t think about it. But retain far more.

Second AMAZING BOOK that taught me honor, perseverence and the power of thinking big and caring for people.
“GENGHIS KHAN and the making of the modern world”

He has been demonized by history, but he was actually a great man who patiendly built a land empire the size of Africa, and was responsible for many things we now have.

Descendents of Genghis Khan ruled on thrones around the world up to 80 years ago!!!
